MISSION SUNDAY

The theme, chosen by Pope Francis, this year for Mission Sunday is also the theme for the Missionary Month of October:

and Sent: The Church of Christ on Mission in the World.Baptised

Pope Francis reminds us that every baptised man and woman is a mission. Each of us is a mission to the world, for each of us is the fruit of God’s love. Mission Sunday also encourages prayers, cooperation and help for missions.

The Holy Father invites all Catholics to contribute to Mission Sunday Collections. The contributions given on Mission Sunday contribute to the Pontifical Mission Societies. The Pope sends his heartfelt blessing to all those who, by virtue of their baptism, share in any way in the mission of the Church. The full text of the Pope’s message for Mission Sunday may be read on the Vatican website.

The second collection at all Masses this weekend will be the Mission Sunday Collection.
