Tuesday February 2: Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas Day)

This feast is the last event in the infancy narratives of Jesus recorded in the gospels.
It is the reason why we have maintained our cribs in our homes and in our churches until this day.

There will be two Masses on Tuesday so that you have the opportunity to have your candles blessed. Please have your candles with you before the online Mass begins.

MONDAY EXPOSITION ONLINE
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place immediately after 11.00 am Mass on Monday February1and conclude at 12 noon with the Angelus and the recitation of the Rosary.
There will be NO Holy Hour from 3.00pm – 4.00 pm.
CONFIRMATIONS 2021
Following the extension of the lockdown until at least March 8, regretfully the decision has had to be taken to cancel the Confirmation ceremonies we had planned for the month of March.
Confirmations will be arranged at a time later in the year when, hopefully, there would be less chance of them having to be cancelled again.
In the meantime, parents/guardians and families of all children in Ballinascreen and Desertmartin making First Confession, First Communion and Confirmation this year are asked to put this date, Tuesday February 23, in their diary. On this date at 7.00 pm there will be a special online presentation from St Eugene's Cathedral, via the cathedral webcam, hosted by the Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre.

PRIVATE PRAYER TIMES
In line with current regulations, Holy Rosary Church will close during all Masses and devotions but will open this week for Private Prayer as follows:
Monday: 12 noon – 2.30 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday:12 noon – 4.00 pm
Sunday: 1.00 pm – 4.00 pm.
HEALTH NOTICE:
Upon entering Holy Rosary Church for Private Prayer, parishioners are reminded that it is vitally important that after sanitising hands, they lift one of the yellow cards and leave it on the seat where they sat. These seats will be later cleaned in line with current regulations. Thank you.

FRIDAY MASSES - PARISH ANNIVERSARY AND MONTH'S MIND MASSES
Parish Anniversary Masses will be held every Friday and presently will only be available via the respective parish webcam. 11.00 am in St Mary's Coolcalm and 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church.
If parishioners wish to have their loved one prayed for at these Anniversary Friday Masses, please email their name to Ballinascreen Parish Office by 12 noon on Thursday of the relevant week.

DRAPERSTOWN LIBRARY
Library will be open from 10.00 am - 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, for book and collect services only.
Readers may telephone the library during these hours and request books for adults or children.
The Library also stocks a collection of AR (Accelerated Reading) books for children to borrow.
Currently readers cannot browse in the library, but may ask staff to select books for them – by phone preferably.
If you know of anyone elderly or shielding who would like to borrow books, and have them delivered free to their homes, please contact a member of the library staff.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions computers are also unfortunately not accessible in the library at this time.
