HOLY ROSARY CHURCH - PRIVATE PRAYER TIMES

Now that Confirmations and First Holy Communion Masses have been celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, new opening times for daily private prayer are announced this week. Holy Rosary Church will open Monday to Thursday from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm and on Friday and Saturdays from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm (this is to allow the sanitising of the church in preparation for evening Masses). The Church will remain open after Mass on a Sunday until 6.00 pm. Parishioners are asked to please sanitise their hands as they enter and leave the church and to sanitise the candle lighter if used. Upon entering the church for Private Prayer please lift one of the yellow coloured cards and leave it on the seat where you have been seated.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020

Congratulations to all the children of the parish who celebrated First Holy Communion over the past fortnight in Ballinascreen. The ceremonies were beautiful in their simplicity and with the focus being solely on receiving Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time, this year’s First Holy Communion Masses were unforgettable experiences. Many thanks to the Principals, Primary 4 teachers in all the schools and the Ballinascreen 'Do This In Memory Of Me Parents’ Team for their commitment to the children and to the parish programme of evangelisation.

POPE FRANCIS @PONTIFEX

If we take care of the goods that the Creator gives us, if we put what we possess in common in such a way that no one would be lacking, then we would truly inspire hope to regenerate a more healthy and equal world.

PRAYERS FOR OUR PROTECTION

The Irish Catholic Bishops have asked for prayers for those affected by the Coronavirus. Placing all our trust in the Lord, and asking Our Lady to intercede for us, the bishops invite everyone to pray these prayers:

EXTRACT FROM SAINT PATRICK’S BREASTPLATE

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer. Amen
