PRIVATE PRAYER TIME HOLY ROSARY CHURCH

Holy Rosary Church will be open for private prayer this week ONLY on Tuesday and Thursday from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm.

WEEKDAY MASSES

Since Monday June 29 Mass may be celebrated in churches with a limited number of people, depending on social distancing, therefore some seats are available at morning Mass in Holy Rosary Church Draperstown on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10.00 am and in St Mary’s Church Coolcalm on Tuesday and Thursday at 10.00 am.

Masses will still be available on the webcam for the majority of parishioners.

However, it is still safer to remain at home and follow Mass on the webcam. This certainly applies to the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions.

Parishioners who wish to attend the 10.00 am Mass are asked to come early and to take directions from the ushers, who will giude you to your seat. It will not be possible to sit wherever you like and social distancing must be maintained.

Please do not genuflect, bow your head in reverence instead.

There will be no kneeling during Mass, only sitting or standing.

Holy Communion will be distributed at the end of Mass and on the hand only. Parishioners must go to communion when instructed to do so and will leave the church by the nearest exit. You cannot come back in to the church.

If the limit of seats is reached, parishioners are asked to sit in their cars and follow Mass, if they can, on the webcam. When those seated have left the church, those who have remained in their cars are welcome to enter the church to receive Holy Communion. They will sanitise their hands and leave as directed.

We thank you, for your cooperation as these new guidelines are implemented.

VIGIL AND SUNDAY MASSES

Sunday Masses including Saturday Vigils will remain on the webcam for now.

As a greater number of people attend Mass at the weekend than on a weekday, greater attention must be paid to how we can facilitate this larger number safely.

It is very important to note that the Sunday Obligation to attend Mass has been removed.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

A large body of volunteers is needed to implement the many new guidelines. As we hope to open each church in the parish for weekend Masses, as soon as possible, volunteers will be needed for each church.

Dates and times of meetings for volunteers will be posted on Facebook etc….

READERS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Mindful that some Readers of the Word of God and Eucharistic Ministers may not be available to offer their services at this time, those who can are asked to please email the Parish Office as soon as possible giving name, address, and telephone number and the church they usually attend. Thank you.

PARISH BAPTISMS

Thank you to the parents who have sent their details to the Parish Office. Fr Madden would like any other parents who are looking forward to having their children baptised to please email details, including your baby’s date of birth and your contact information - Email: ballinascreenparish@gmail.com

PARISH COLLECTIONS

Many thanks to all who have returned parish envelopes, established standing orders, have made online payments or used the ‘Donate’ button on the Parish Website.

Envelopes may be returned to the Parish Office or Parochial Houses or placed in a secure box located in Holy Rosary Church when attending morning Mass.

Thank you very much for your generous support.

Thanks also for donations received for St Vincent de Paul.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASSES

SACRED SPACE - PRAYER WITH THE POPE

With Jesus in the night

God, good night. Thank you for the day. The good bits were good. The tough bits are over for another day. Help me to sleep well tonight. Help me to face into another day tomorrow. Bless and protect all my loved ones this night. Bless and protect all those, too, with whom I disagree or with whom I don’t get on – they’re your children too, I know. May tomorrow bring about your will for the world - peace, love, joy and mercy. May I play my part. For now, good night, God. I love you and know you love me, warts and all.

PRAYERS FOR OUR PROTECTION

The Irish Catholic Bishops have asked for prayers for those affected by the Coronavirus. Placing all our trust in the Lord, and asking Our Lady to intercede for us, the bishops invite everyone to pray these prayers:

EXTRACT FROM SAINT PATRICK’S BREASTPLATE

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer. Amen.
