VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Fr Madden will continue to visit the sick and housebound of the parish as follows:

Tuesday 28 January: Tobermore Road, Magherafelt Road, Slievegallion Park, Bradley Park, Glenshane Park Drumard and Gortnaskea.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday 27 January will commence after the 10.00 am Mass and will continue until 7.25 pm.

If you are willing to become a regular Adorer in the Parish each Monday please leave your name in the Parish Office. Adorers are needed particularly for the hour of 5.00 pm - 6.00 pm.

ST BRIGID’S CROSSES

St Brigid’s Crosses will be blessed at all Masses next weekend, 1 and 2 February.

CANDLEMAS DAY

Candles may be purchased from David O’Kane Newsagents, St Patrick’s Street.

Candles will be blessed at all Masses on Sunday February 2, including those ordered in O’Kane’s. Candles ordered in O’Kane’s may be collected from there once blessed on February 2.

January Draw will be held on Monday January 27. Results will be printed in next week’s Bulletin.

Sunday 16 February at 3.00 pm in St Columba’s Church Straw.

CONFIRMATION 2020

Ballinascreen Parish Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday April 25 at 11.00 am in St Columba’s Church Straw.

SERVICE OF LIGHT

Service of Light for Primary 7 children will take place next Sunday 2 February (Candlemass Day) at 5.00 pm in Holy Rosary Church. All P7 children and parents are warmly invited to attend this very special service.

Note: Children from Gaelscoil na Speiríní will have a separate Service of Light with other Irish Medium Schools.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

The Friday 7.30 pm Mass in St Columba’s Church Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office by Thursday of the relevant week. These names will also be read out at the 10.00 am Mass on Friday mornings (exception when this 10.00 am Mass is cancelled).

ST JOSEPH’S YOUNG PRIESTS’ SOCIETY

The Society acknowledges with sincere thanks generous donations for the support and education of student priests at home and abroad. All benefactors share in the Masses and prayers of the society. Further donations gratefully accepted. Please continue to pray for vocations to the priesthood for the church of tomorrow.

A NIGHT OF HOPE

A Night of Hope will be held next Sunday 2 February at 7.00 pm in St. Mary's Church Bellaghy. Artists include St. Mary's Youth Choir, The Ward Sisters,The Gribbin Girls, Oonagh Clarke, The Robinsons Sisters, Justin McGurk, Fiddler Adam, Michael Mawhinney and Cloughfin Pipe Band. There will also be two mental health guest speakers.

Admission ~ voluntary donation.

All proceeds will go to S.T.E.P.S, Community Rescue Services and Mental Health charities. All welcome.

CATHOLIC YOUTH MINISTRY

Catholic Youth Ministry Ireland (CYMI) invites young adults aged 18+ to join them for a faith event at Knock Shrine on Saturday 7 March.

The event will involve workshops, fellowship, worship and various speakers. It is hoped to provide transport for those who would like to attend, from the diocese. CYMI is a national network that, amongst its work, shares responsibility for nourishing the faith of youth and young adults. LOURDES DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE

Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Bishop Donal McKeown, Thursday 2 July to Tuesday 7 July 2020, cost £679 ( deposit £100 - non refundable). This includes full board accomodation and transfers in Lourdes. PILGRIMAGE TO SICILY

ST BRIDGET’S CROSSES

St. Bridget s Crosses will be made in Shepherd’s Rest at 8.00 pm on Friday 31 January. This will be followed by an Irish cultural night of music, singing, story telling, dancing and craic. Musicians, singers and all are welcome.
