Monday 16: St Cornelius and St Cyprian.

Friday 20: Saints Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Companions. Andrew was the first Korean priest and Paul a catechist, who were martyred along with 101 others during the persecutions of the Church in Korea from 1839 -1867.

KNOCK DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE

Bus is now fully booked and will leave Holy Rosary Church at 7.30 am on Saturday 28 September. This pilgrimage will be led by Bishop Donal McKeown.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

The Friday 7.30 pm Mass in St Columba’s Church Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office by Thursday of the relevant week.

ANONYMOUS LETTERS

If anyone is in receipt of anonymous letters, please do not take them seriously. They do not deserve to be given any attention whatsoever. Ignore them. Tear them up. Put them in the fire. Shred them. Do not be tempted to give them any consideration, no matter what is written. Do not let an anonymous writer win by worrying over what they have put in this letter. Ask the Lord to help you forget what has been written and pray for the person who wrote the letter, whoever they maybe. They obviously need the prayers

HOLY HOUR FOR VOCATIONS

Fr Declan McGeehan, CC Cappagh, will lead a Holy Hour to pray for an increase in vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life in the Diocese of Derry on Thursday 19 September at 8.00 pm in St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry. All welcome.

LOUGH DERG 2019

POPE JOHN PAUL II AWARD PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

National Pilgrimage on Friday 27 September for young people aged 16 to18. The theme is ‘Life To The Full’ - Positive Friendships - Your Parish Needs You Now! Guest speaker will be Elma Walsh #LiveLife. Music by Elation Ministries. Pilgrimage starts at 11.00 am and ends after 3.00 pm Mass, which will be celebrated by Bishop Donal McKeown. 33rd DERRY BALLINASCREEN SCOUTS

Registration on Thursday 19 September from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm in the Scouts’ Den (St Colm’s Hall, Cahore Road). Anyone wishing to register or just to find out more about Scouts should attend. S.T.E.P.S. TRAINING

S.T.E.P.S. with ALPS Ltd invite you to St. Colm's GAC on Saturday 5 October from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm to provide our community with QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Accredited Suicide Prevention Training. Registration is necessary prior to this event. This training is for everyone over 18 years of age.

IPT PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES EASTER 2020

Applications are invited from / for young people (11-30 years) with a medical condition, physical disability, illness, learning disability, social or emotional need. Applications also invited for very seriously ill children under 11years , who would be accompanied by a parent or close relative. Those over 11 years travel without their family but are accompanied by experienced adult carers. The pilgrimage can provide respite for parents /carers. STRESS CONTROL COURSE

This free six week, self-help course is for people experiencing anxiety or depression, or anyone who is experiencing stress, knows someone who is, or just wants to be better equipped to deal with stress. Course starts on Wednesday 18 September at 6.30 pm in Medowbank Arena, Magherafelt.
