VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Fr Madden will visit the sick in his care on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 July at the following times:

Monday Afternoon: Sixtowns Road, Tonagh, Cavanreagh, Cordarragh, Strawmore, Derrynoyd Road, Moneyneena Road.

Tuesday Afternoon: Drumard, Gortnaskea.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AND MONDAY EVENING MASS

During the months of July and August there will be no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and no Evening Mass on Mondays. We are all in great debt to those who so generously gave of their time each week to pray for us all before Jesus each week. Exposition and the Evening Mass will resume on the first Monday of September.

SPECIAL PIONEER MASS

Congratulations to the 15 Diamond Jubilarians, 21 Golden Jubilarians and 8 Silver Jubilarians who received their emblems and certificates from Fr Francis Bradley, National Spiritual Director of the Pioneer Association of Ireland, during a special Mass in St Eugene’s Church, Moneyneenaon Wednesday June 26.

Primary 7 and Year 8 children also took their Confirmation Pledge at this Mass. We congratulate these young people and pray that they will remain faithful to their pledge.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

The Friday 7.30 pm Mass in St Columba’s Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office by Thursday of the relevant week.

LOUGH DERG 2019

Three Day Pilgrimages:

You may begin any day until Tuesday 13 August. Booking not required. Boats daily ~ 10.30 am - 3.00 pm, 7 days per week. Cost €75.

One Day Retreats:

ST COLM'S HIGH SCHOOL

Congratulations to the Governors, staff and pupils of St. Colm’s High School on winning The Sustainable Schools Award at the prestigious TES Schools Awards in London on 21 June 2019. All staff, teaching, non-teaching and pupils at St Colm’s High School, Draperstown led by the Eco coordinator Mrs Clare Devlin, have been praised for their willingness to take action to improve the environment, not only within but beyond the school. They work closely with all our local Primary Schools as part of the Screen Eco Schools Group educating the children of the future on many environmental issues. Well done to everyone involved.

VENERABLE MATT TALBOT

Freedom from Drugs Mass

Matt Talbot Freedom from Drugs Mass will be celebrated in St Eugene’s Cathedral on Monday 1 July at 7.30 pm. This Mass is offered for those who are addicted to drugs and for their families. We pray through the intercession of Venerable Matt Talbot, that people will be freed from this addiction. Prayer cards and reflection cards will be available. Refreshments provided. GUIDED MUCKISH HILL CLIMB

The Irish Pilgrimage Trust provides a pilgrimage for children and young people with intellectual disabilities, medical conditions and social needs to Lourdes every Easter and depends on fundraising to do this. The IPT will host its first Muckish Mountain Charity Guided Climb, on Sunday 21 July, starting at 10.00 am, with registration near Our Lady’s Shrine on the R256 Falcarragh Road. Cost €10. SIXTOWNS CROSS COMMUNITY GROUP FESTIVAL

  • Coffee Morning today, Sunday 30 June, 10.30 am – 12.30 pm. If you would like to donate baked goods please drop them in from 9.30 am on Sunday morning.

  • Annual Fun Day ~ July 7, 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm ~ £3 per person, free admission for children under 2.

  • All proceeds from these events will go towards the up keep of Sixtowns Hall.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

South Derry Down Syndrome Group hope to recruit some volunteers for summer activities and also for throughout the year. Activities may include youth club, football, drama and summer scheme. DRAPERSTOWN LIBRARY

  • Library will close at 5.00 pm on Tuesdays during July and August, and will be closed on 9, 12 and 13 July.

  • Please encourage your children / grandchildren to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge starting on 2 July. Children set their own targets and when they reach it will receive a certificate.

  • Free Craft s and Storytime sessions on Tuesday 23 July and Tuesday 13 August, both at 3.30 pm. Booking essential!

  • Ipads available for children from St Mary’s, St. Eoghan’s and St. Columba’s for Accelerated Reading tests they may wish to complete during the summer.

ST COLM’S GAC

  • Summer Camp from Monday 1 July - Thursday 4 July, on from 10.00 am - 2.00 pm daily with a FREE Family Fun Night open to everyone on Friday July 5from 6.00 pm. Music in Club by Mick Tam from 8.00 pm.

Please Note: All children registered should arrive at 10.00 am each day and bring their own hurl / helmet (if they have one) clearly labelled, a healthy packed lunch (no nuts), wear sun cream and bring water. Children must be collected at 2.00 pm each day. Parents are asked to please follow the one way traffic system and work with the volunteers.
