ST COLUMBA'S CHURCH, STRAW

The process to obtain a grant for the replacing of the church roof in Straw is ongoing and hopefully the application, when it is made, will be successful.

In the meantime, the provision of another toilet at Straw began last week. This entails a re-organising of the entire sacristy area of the church. Consequently, for health and safety reasons, there will be no Sunday Mass in St Columba’s Church Straw on the following dates: February 17, February 24 and March 3. Celebration of Sunday Mass at 11.00 am in St Columba’s will resume on Sunday March 10.

While this work is being completed the Friday evening Parish Anniversary Mass will take place in St Eugene’s Church, Moneyneena at 7.30 pm starting next Friday 15 February.

RETIREMENT OF SACRISTAN

The priests of the parish wish to take this opportunity to thank Teresa McGuigan who recently retired as Sacristan of St Columba’s Church, Straw. Teresa has given 20 years of dedicated service as Sacristan.
