FEASTS OF THE WEEK

Tuesday 5: St Agatha, virgin and martyr.

Wednesday 6: St Paul Miki and Companions, martyred at Nagasaki, Japan in 1597. The six Franciscans, seventeen Franciscan Tertiaries and three Jesuits died suspended on crosses.

Friday 8: International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking. This day was first observed in 2015 on the memorial of Sr Josephine Bakhita,1868 – 1947. She was brought as a slave from Sudan to Italy, where she became a Christian and later entered a convent in Venice.

VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Fr Downey will visit the sick in his care on Monday 4, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 February.

PADRE PIO MASS

Monthly Mass in honour of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Monday 4 February at 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church.

Novena prayers and Rosary at 7.10 pm.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday 4 February, will commence after 10.00 am Mass and conclude at 7.25pm. Mass at 7.30 pm.

HOLY HOUR FOR VOCATIONS

Bishop McKeown will lead a Holy Hour to pray for an increase in Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life, in St Eugene's Cathedral, Derry, at 8.00 pm on Thursday 7 February. All welcome.

CONFIRMATION 2019

At Fr Madden’s invitation, Monsignor Joseph Donnelly, P. Em, will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation in St Columba’s Church, Straw on Saturday March 23 at 12 noon. Monsignor Donnelly is a former Vicar- General of the Diocese of Derry and a native of Ballinascreen. We look forward to welcoming him home to his parish for this special occasion.

POLISH MASS AND CONFESSION

Fr. Ignacy Saniuta (Polish Priest) will celebrate Mass in Polish in St. Patrick’s Church, Dungiven, on 2 February at 7.30 pm. Confessions will be available before Mass at 7.00 pm.

DO THIS IN MEMORY 2019

Do This in Memory Masses will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church at 12 noon on the following dates:

10 March and 14 April. On 23 June the Final Mass will be celebrated in St Columba’s Church, Straw at 11.00 am. All Primary 4 children and their families are warmly invited to attend this family and parish focussed programme.

The Friday Mass at 7.30 pm in St Columba’s Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office before Thursday of the relevant week.
