FEASTS OF THE WEEK

Tuesday 15: St Ita. She was given the title ‘foster-mother of the saints of Ireland.’ She died in 570.

Thursday 17: St Anthony of Egypt, died in 356. Known as ‘Father of monasticism,’ he lived a life of solitude but also attracted many others to form communities of hermits.

CHURCH UNITY WEEK

Church Unity week begins on Friday January 18. Please pray for the unity of all Christians so that those who need to hear about Jesus will be convinced of the Love of His Father in heaven for them because We Are One.

VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Fr Madden will visit the sick in his care on Monday 14, Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 January, following the 10.00 am Mass.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday 14 January, will commence after 10.00 am Mass and conclude at 7.25pm. Mass at 7.30 pm.

As part of The Irish Catholic Evangelisation Initiative, the newspaper will be available each week for the next 4 weeks for £1.

Any parishioner who wishes to place a regular order for this paper from February onwards should please contact the Parish Office with their details and payment. The paper will, from February onwards, be distributed through the Parish Office.

DO THIS IN MEMORY 2019

Do This in Memory Masses will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church at 12 noon on the following dates:

27 January, 10 March and 14 April.

On 23 June the Final Mass will be celebrated in St Columba’s Church, Straw at 11.00 am. All Primary 4 children and their families are warmly invited to attend this family and parish focussed programme.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

The Friday Mass at 7.30 pm in St Columba’s Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office before Thursday of the relevant week.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE

Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be held from 4 - 9 July 2019. The Pilgrimage Office, 164 Bishop Street, Derry is open every Thursday and Saturday 11.00 am – 1.00 pm.

BALLINASCREEN CREDIT UNION

As part of the Credit Union’s 50th Anniversary Celebration the Trading Standards Service (NI) will give a talk and presentation on Scams and Rogue Traders in The Market Inn on Wednesday 16 January commencing at 7.30 pm. This presentation will make you aware of the different types of scams that are currently operating and help you avoid getting caught up in these scams and maybe losing money as a result. This free event which is funded by the Brackagh Quarry Wind Farm Community Fund is open to the general public and everyone is invited. A light supper will be provided

WOMEN’S AID ~ THANKS

The recent collection in Centra for Mid-Ulster Women's Aid raised £2030.81 and 6 full trolleys. Thanks to Centra and to all who donated.

SIXTOWNS CROSS COMMUNITY GROUP
