FEAST OF THE WEEK

Sunday 6: The Epiphany of the Lord. The Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Saviour of the world. This feast celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the magi from the East, together with his Baptism in the Jordan and the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday January 7. Adoration will commence after 10.00 am Mass and conclude at 7.25pm. Mass at 7.30 pm.

VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Fr Downey will visit the sick in his care on Monday 7, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 January.

Padre Pio Mass

  • Monthly Mass in honour of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Monday January 7 at 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church. Novena prayers and Rosary at 7.10 pm.

  • There will be a relic for veneration at this Mass.

HOLY ROSARY WEBCAM

Webcam Mass streaming service has been down for the past week. MCN Dungannon has examined and tested the equipment and discovered that the problem lies in the broadband speed. Hopefully it will be up and running again as soon as possible.

DO THIS IN MEMORY 2019

Do This in Memory Masses will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church at 12 nooon on the following dates:

27 January, 10 March and 14 April.

On 23 June the Final Mass will be celebrated in St Columba’s Church, Straw at 11.00 am. All Primary 4 children and their families are warmly invited to attend this family and parish focussed programme.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2019

First Holy Communion will be celebrated in Ballinascreen Parish on the following dates in May 2019:

CONFIRMATION 2019

Fr Madden will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday 23 March in St Columba’s Church Straw at 12 noon.

IRISH CATHOLIC NEWSPAPER

As part of The Irish Catholic Evangelisation Initiative, the newspaper will be available each week for the next 5 weeks for £1.

We encourage those who have never bought the paper before to consider buying it this week.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

Friday Mass at 7.30 pm in St Columba’s Straw is offered as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office before Thursday of the relevant week.

LOURDES DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE

Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage will be held from 4 - 9 July 2019. The Pilgrimage Office, 164 Bishop Street, Derry, is now taking enquiries and initial expressions of interest. Pilgrimage Office opening hours are Thursday and Saturday 11.00 am – 1.00 pm.

SCHOOL NOTICE FOR PARENTS

If your child will be starting pre-school or Primary School in September 2019, you should apply for their place online from Wednesday 2 January.   • An evening to celebrate the life of Henry McKenna ~ Kentucky’s Distiller, will be held on Tuesday January 8 at 8.00pm in the Market Inn.

  • The society’s latest publication ‘Henry McKenna’ will be available at this event.
