WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES - FAMILY FUN EVENING

Pope Francis visits Ireland this weekend to close the International World Meeting of Families that opened last Tuesday evening with the pealing of bells across the country. Bells rang out at Dean McGlinchey Park as Ballinascreeen Parish hosted a Family Fun Evening to celebrate the Pope’s visit.

Thanks to St Colm’s GAC who so generously and willingly provided their club facillities. Over a thousand people attended the event which culminated with a spectacular firework display that ended an evening that will live long in the memory of all those who were present.

Sincere thanks go to the many people whose hard work made the evening possible.

A big thank you to all our generous sponsors, local businesses and Mid-Ulster Council whose support enabled the evening to take place.

Those who provided the entertainment created a wonderful atmosphere and a big thank you goes to The Bleed’n Cowboys and Ballinascreen Traditional Irish Group.

It is surely a wonderful reflection on the Parish of Ballinascreen that in so short a time so many could come together to create such a memorable event for all to enjoy.

May the Lord in his goodness bless all our families.

POPE FRANCIS@ PONTIFEX

The Eucharist, Jesus the Bread of Life, is the beating heart of the Church and renews in us the impulse to love.

Official Prayer for WMOF2018

OFFICIAL PRAYER FOR WMOF2018

God, our Father, we are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,

One family, in the Spirit of your love.

Bless us with the joy of love.

Make us patient and kind, gentle and generous, welcoming to those in need.

Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.

Protect all families with your loving care,

Especially those for whom we now pray:

Pause to remember family members and others

Increase our faith, strengthen our hope,

Keep us safe in your love,

Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share. This we ask, through Christ our Lord. Amen
