Tuesday August 21: County Derry Deanery Family Event to be held in Dean McGlinchey Park in the evening to celebrate the opening of the World Meeting of Families on Wednesday August 22, culminating in the visit to Ireland of the Holiness Pope Francis.

Sunday September 23: To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of St Pio of Pietrlecina and the centenary of his having received on his body the stigmata, (the wounds of Jesus on the cross ) Bishop McKeown, will be the chief celebrant at a Mass in Holy Rosary Church at 3.00 pm.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY MASS

The 7.30 pm Friday Mass in St Columba’s Straw is offered each week as an anniversary Mass for deceased parishioners. If you wish to have your loved one prayed for at this Mass you MUST give their name to the Parish Office before Thursday of the relevant week.

ST JOSEPH’S YOUNG PRIESTS’ SOCIETY

The Society acknowledges with sincere thanks a generous donation for the support and education of student priests at home and abroad. All benefactors share in the Masses and prayers of the society. Pilgrimage Season continues until October 14.

  • Anointing of the Sick daily at 12 noon and 3.00 pm. Sunday 2.30 pm.

  • Confessions daily in Chapel of Reconciliation 11.00 am – 5.00 pm.

  • Stations of the Cross and Rosary Procession 2.00 pm (Mon – Sat).

  • Guided Prayer Sessions in the Prayer Guidance Centre. Monday - Friday: 12 noon; 4.15 pm and 8.15 pm. Saturday and Sunday: 12 noon, 5.00 pm and 8.15 pm.

  • Counselling Centre Drop-In Service. No appointment necessary. Available Thursdays: 10.00 am - 5.00 pm, Fridays: 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays: 11.00 am – 5.00 pm. This service is available to any person aged over 18. There is no set fee for a session at the drop-in listening service.

Counselling service available for a wide range of issues.

Counselling Services for Young People

DRAPERSTOWN LIBRARY

  • Free Rhythm and Rhyme for babies and children aged 0-4 years, every Friday from 10.30 am to 11.00 am. New members welcome.

  • Big Summer Read for children up to 15 years old, continues until Friday 31 August. Free activity booklets for each child participating. Competition with a free family break to St.John’s Point Lighthouse, Co Down as a prize.

  • Adult Reading Group will not meet during the summer.

  • Knit and Natter Group may continue over the summer months.

  • Library will close for 1 week from 12- 20 July. Reopens Saturday 21 July.

  • Library will close at 5.00 pm on Tuesdays during July and August.

AN RATH DUBH MONEYNEENA

Sixtowns Cross Community Group

  • Community Fun Day on today, Sunday 8 July from 3.00 pm -6.00 pm. Live Music by Fizzer, Puppet and Magic Show, bouncy castles, face painting and more. All welcome. Admission £3 including all activities. Hot food and refreshments served.

HUDY'S WAY WALK

Walk for MacMillan Cancer Support on Saturday 28 July. Walk will start at An Rath Dubh at 9.00 am and finish at there also, when tea and sandwiches will be served. There is an option of the full Hudy's Way walk or a shorter walk starting at 11.00 am. Registration from 8.00 am at An Rath Dubh. Monthly Tea Dance on Friday 13 July. Dancing 9.00 pm – midnight. Music by Outbound Express . Admission £5.00 includes light supper.

  • Membership for 2018/2019 season is now due. Registration must be completed online and early registration is appreciated to help with planning.
