FR JOHN DOWNEY RIP

  • Fr John Downey’s First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 18 September in St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry at 7.30 pm.  All welcome.

  • On Saturday morning, September 21, at 11.00 am in St Eugene’s Church Moneyneena there will be a Mass of Remembrance at which a dedication to Fr Downey, presented to Ballinascreen Parish by his family, will be unveiled and blessed. Everyone welcome.

DERRY DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

Bishop McKeown will lead the Diocesan Pilgrimage on Saturday 28 September.

COURSES AT DRUMALIS

  • Pathways Adult Faith Development Programme for 2024 /2025 begins in Drumalis on Saturday 12 October, and runs for one Saturday a month from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, from October to June. All welcome. Past participants may be interested in this year’s new programme.

  • Growth In Prayer and Reflective Living hosted by Drumalis via Zoom, commences Monday 16 September. Do you feel restless, do you sense there is a deeper meaning to life, that God is out there but you feel disconnected.  Then this course may be for you. This 20 session course via Zoom from September until March is based on Ignatian Spirituality. 

  • Rooted in Love. Zoom course delivered over ten Thursday evening sessions from Sept 2024 to May 2025 – this course is ideal for anyone who has completed Growth in Prayer and Reflective Living.

SMA NOVENA 2024 

In honour of St Thérèse Of the Child Jesus, Patroness of the Missions, from Monday 23 September to Tuesday 1 October.  Daily Mass and Novena Prayers at 10.00 am and 7.30 pm, in SMA Chapel, Dromantine.  All are welcome. You can also participate via webcam www.sma.ie.


WARM WELCOME WEDNESDAYS

Recommences on Wednesday 11 September, in Workspace Community Hub, from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. No need to book, just drop-in for tea /coffee and some chat. Free of charge, all  welcome.

  • Walking Group: Meet in The Rural College at 6.50 pm.

LAPÓGLANN - TODDLE-INN

Glór na Speiríní are pleased to announce that their Parent and Toddlers Group will recommence on the week starting Monday 9 September.  The group will be on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.00 am to 10.30 am in Glór na Speiríní Centre, Straw, which is located directly beside the church. Cost is £2 per session with refreshments included. Please note that their Irish language session will recommence on Thursday 19 September from 9.00 am to 10.30 am. Tá fáilte roimh chách. LOW COST COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

This Autumn psychotherapy students from the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre (www.dctc.ie) will be available to meet clients face to face in the Maghera area. Working under the auspices of Derry Psychotherapy,  a professional psychotherapy and supervision practice, the students will work with a range of issues with adult clients. (Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement, Fear, Relationship issues, etc.) A waiting list is being opened and places will be offered on a first come basis. BLESSING OF MOTORCYCLES

Fr Gerry Sweeney will celebrate Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Dungiven, at 11.30 am on September 15, all bikers welcome to that Mass and then head to St Aengus’ Church, Burt, Co. Donegal, for blessing at 1.30 pm. Bike ride then to RNLI Station, Buncrana for refreshments.


KILCRONAGHAN CENTRE

  • Crochet class for beginners and improvers starts Monday 23 September for 6 weeks from 10.00 am to 12 noon.

  • Painting classes resume Wednesday 11 September from 10.00 am and 7.00 pm.

  • NEW Beginners painting class will commence in October if there is enough interest, so register now if interested.
