CANONISATION CELEBRATIONS
To celebrate the Canonisation of Carlo Acutis, you are invited to St. Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, today, Sunday 7 September, from 3.00 pm for Veneration of a First Class Relic of Carlo Acutis, gifted to the Cathedral by Carlo’s mother, Antonia. Sacrament of Confession will be available from 3.00 pm until Mass at 7.00pm.  Celebrant for Mass will be Bishop Donal McKeown.
Adoration in the Mother Teresa Chapel during the Celebrations.Â
A short film on Carlo’s life will be shown in the Conference Room. Everyone welcome to this special time of prayer and celebration.

SEAMUS HEANEY LECTURE
On 1 November, Professor Michael Parker and Dr Gary Wade will deliver a lecture at Homeplace, Bellaghy, on ‘Remembrances: Forms of Memory in Seamus Heaney’s Writing’. As part of the evening, there will be a discussion of Gary’s recently published book Seamus Heaney and Catholicism (Cambridge University Press, 2025). BLESSING OF BIKES
On today, Sunday 7 September, at St Aengus’s Church Burt, Co Donegal at 1.30 pm: short prayer service and blessing.  All welcome. Fr Gerry Sweeney will first celebrate Mass at 11.30 am in St. Patrick’s Church, Dungiven, remembering and praying for all deceased bikers. All bikers welcome to this Mass. After this Mass bikers will ride to Burt Church for 1.30 pm. Usual collection for RNLI Station, Ned’s Point, Buncrana. After the blessing they will travel to Ned’s Point RNLI Station to present the collection and for some refreshments.
SIXTOWNS HISTORY GROUP - HERITAGE DAY
In Sixtowns Cross Community Centre today (Sunday) 3.00 pm until 6.00 pm. Drop in for a cup of tea and step back in time at their Heritage Day. Learn about traditional activities include weaving, wood turning, embroidering, baking sodas and colcannon. Large selection of old tools and implements on display, traditional music and more so drop in for a visit. This is a on off event.

Hall Committee Annual General Meeting on Monday 29 September at 7.30 pm. The hall has been at the heart of the community since the early 1950s, and we want to ensure it continues to thrive for future generations.
