DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY MISSION APPEAL

Sister from the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul order will visit Ballinascreen and Desertmartin Parishes next weekend 29/30 June and will speak, at all Masses in both parishes, about their work in Africa.

SUMMER DRAW 2024

The Annual Summer Draw is upon us and this year the need for us all to make a huge effort to get as many to take part cannot be exaggerated. The work in St Eugene's Church, Moneyneena is progressing well and we are hoping that the Summer Draw will be a great success. We rely on every parishioner to take tickets into their work place and to distribute them among family members who live outside the parish. 

The total prize fund is £8,000 and the Draw will be held each Saturday from 13 July until Saturday August 10.  Winners will be announced each Saturday at the 6.00 p.m. Vigil Mass in Holy Rosary Church.

Week 1: 1st Prize £1,000, 2nd Prize £200, 3rd Prize £100.

Week 2: 1st Prize £1,000, 2nd Prize £200, 3rd Prize £100.

Week 3: 1st Prize £1,000, 2nd Prize £200, 3rd Prize £100.

Week 4: 1st Prize £1,000, 2nd Prize £200, 3rd Prize £100.

Week 5: 1st Prize £2,000, 2nd Prize £500, 3rd Prize £300.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC FUNDRAISING EVENT

Sincere thanks to all who organised and supported the recent Irish Traditional music session in An Ráth Dubh which raised £400 in aid of the renovation work being carried out on St Eugene’s Church Moneyneena.


DIOCESE OF DERRY - THREE DAY PILGRIMAGE TO LOUGH DERG

Lough Derg is a sacred place apart to bring burdens and leave them behind, to seek healing for wounds and to offering of prayer. The Lough Derg Pilgrimage provides a breathing space in which people can calmly explore and reflect on where they find themselves in their lives at this moment in time.  The Diocese of Derry Three Day Pilgrimage led by Bishop Donal McKeown starts on Friday 26 and concludes on Sunday  28 July.  Bus will depart after 10:00 am Mass from St Eugene's Cathedral, on Friday 26 July. Cost £80 including transport. Cost without transport £70. Prebooking required. BALLINASCREEN SVP

Ballinascreen SVP have introduced a ‘'Tap to Donate' contactless card machine as an additional method to donate towards parish families in need.  An SVP member will be available with the card machine after selected Masses. Ballinascreen SVP thank you for your continued support.


ST EUGENE’S CHURCH

Fr Madden is grateful for the donations already received towards the renovation work on St Eugene’s Church. Further donations gratefully accepted.

DRAPERSTOWN HEALTH MATTERS PROJECT 

The last session of this project will be held on Wednesday 26 June in Workspace Community Hub from 11.00 am. To mark Deaf Blind Awareness Week, a representative from Deafblind UK will give a talk at 11.30 am and O’Kane’s Pharmacy will be carrying out ear checks. Everyone welcome, no booking required.  Refreshments served. 


BRACKAGH QUARRY WIND FARM COMMUNITY FUND

The 2024-2025 Community Fund is now open for applications. The Fund offers grants up to £2,000 to community and voluntary groups within a four-mile radius of the wind farm site.  Groups outside this area may also apply provided all or the majority of the recipients of their services are based within the four-mile radius.  For more information or to request an application pack call Workspace on 028 79628113. BALLINASCREEN COMMUNITY FORUM

MACMILLAN CANCER WALK

Annual Walk on Saturday July 27, will start and finish at An Ráth Dubh. Registration open from 8.30 am.  Long walk (7 miles) starts at 9.00 am, short walk (3 miles) starts at 11.00am.  Lunch served from 12 noon. MARY’S MEALS

Mary’s Meals, is a charity that presently feeds 2,429,182 children in their place of education each school day.  For the past eleven years walks to Knock Shrine have taken place, to raise awareness of, and funds for Mary's Meals. They are now launching Step by Step to Feed the Next Child 2024 and have walks originating in many counties from 7 to 15 August.
