EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration in Holy Rosary Church on Monday June 3 from 12 noon until 7.25 pm.


PADRE PIO MASS

Monthly Mass in honour of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Monday June 3 at 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church. Novena prayers and Rosary at 7.10 pm. All welcome.


VISITATION OF SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

Over the next two weeks Fr Madden will continue to visit the sick of the parish and will contact each family the day before. If anyone has special hospital appointments etc please let him know and a time and day that suits can be arranged.


SUMMER DRAW 2024

The Annual Summer Draw is upon us and this year the need for us all to make a huge effort to get as many to take part cannot be exaggerated. The work in St Eugene's Church, Moneyneena is progressing well and we are hoping that the Summer Draw will be a great success. We rely on every parishioner to take tickets into their work place and to distribute them among family members who live outside the parish.  Tickets will very soon be available to buy from Draw Promoters and at all the usual outlets and they will also be available to purchase online.

BLESSING OF GRAVES 2024

Blessing of Graves in the parishes of Ballinascreen and Desertmartin will take place next weekend as follows:

Saturday June 8:

6.30 pm ~ Mass in St Patrick’s Keenaught followed by Blessing of graves. 

Please note earlier Mass time.

Sunday June 9:

11.00 am ~ Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Sixtowns followed by Blessing of graves.

12 noon ~ Mass in St Eugene’s Church, Moneyneena followed by Blessing of graves.

2.00 pm ~ Blessing of graves at St Columba’s Straw.

3.00 pm ~ Blessing of graves at St Mary’s, Coolcalm.

4.30 pm ~ Blessing of graves at Old Keenaught Church.

Please gather at your family grave before the Ceremony begins.

Please bring a small container of water (ONE for each grave) to the Ceremony.

This water will be blessed during the Ceremony. A member of each family will be invited to sprinkle holy water on the grave after the prayers of blessing over all the graves have been recited by the priests.  

At each Ceremony we will also remember by name all those who died in our parish since Cemetery Sunday 2023.

The annual gate collection will be taken up, at the end of each ceremony to help with the upkeep of the graveyards. You may use the white envelope (at the back of each box of envelopes) marked Special Collection No 1 for this collection.

BALLINASCREEN SVP

Ballinascreen SVP are introducing a ‘'Tap to Donate' contactless card machine as an additional method to donate towards parish families in need.  An SVP member will be available with the card machine after selected Masses. Ballinascreen SVP thank you for your continued support.


ST EUGENE’S CHURCH

Fr Madden is grateful for the donations already received towards the renovation work on St Eugene’s Church. Further donations gratefully accepted.

FASHION SHOW ST COLM’S HIGH SCHOOL

Fashion Show on Thursday 6 June from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Tickets £10 each available at the school office.


TRADITIONAL MUSIC FUNDRAISING EVENT

Irish Traditional music session in An Ráth Dubh Moneyneena on Saturday 15 June. Junior session from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Senior Session 8.30 pm to late. Admission £10. 

All proceeds from this event are in aid of renovation work on St Eugene's Church Moneyneena. Everyone welcome.

CATECHISM / YOUCAT KNOCK PILGRIMAGE

Do you want to learn more about your Catholic faith? Do you want to know and share the catechism of the Catholic Church with your children? YouCat, (Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church)  is a faith training programme of the Christian faith for anyone who wants to learn more about what Catholics believe. YouCat is not just for young people but for anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith. To help you learn more about YouCat and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, you are invited to their Pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday 15 June. Pilgrimage Mass will be celebrated by the Papal Nuncio to Ireland, Most Rev Luis Mariano Montemayor with homilist, Bishop of Ossory, Niall Coll.

DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY

Fr. Liam Donnelly will celebrate a special Mass of Thanksgiving on Friday 21 June at 7.00 pm in Church of Our Lady Of Mercy, Lavey, to mark the 60th anniversary of his ordination. Refreshments will be served after the Mass in Lavey Club.

PARISH ANNIVERSARY AND MONTH’S MIND MASSES

If you wish to have a deceased loved one prayed for at any Anniversary Friday Mass, you MUST please email their name to Ballinascreen Parish Office by noon on Thursday of the relevant week.

Notices for First Anniversary and Month's Mind Masses should be received before the Wednesday of the previous week so that they may be printed in the Bulletin the weekend before the Anniversary Mass. 


KNOCKNAGIN HALL

  • Yoga classes and Knit & Natter have stopped for the summer months, will resume again in September.

  • Convery School of Irish Dancing, for boys and girls aged 3+, on Tuesdays at 6.00 pm. To register Contact Nicola on 07518207458.

  • Chair Exercises continues on Tuesday at 10.00 am followed by a short walk, admission £4.00.

  • Line dancing classes continue every Wednesday at 7.30 pm
