SUMMER DRAW 2024

Parishioners will know that the restoration work on St Eugene's Church ended a couple of weeks ago. The stone work has been beautifully restored and has been commented on favourably by many.  However, the work is not complete. The internal repairs to the church ceiling above the sanctuary and the considerable damage caused by the ingress of water in the sacristy must now be addressed. The SUMMER PARISH DRAW is now in motion and tickets are on sale at the usual outlets and online. Tickets will also be on sale next Friday and Saturday in the Parish Office from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. If you haven't yet bought a ticket we ask you to do so. We make this appeal to our younger parishioners especially who are working. It might be in the next 5 to 10 years or indeed less that St Eugene’s Church Moneyneena will be the setting for their weddings and buying a ticket now is an investment that ensures the church is well maintained. Please ask your relations and friends to help you in the fund-raising. It is hoped that if enough money is raised, the grounds around the church will also be upgraded and disabled parking provided. Thank you. The first draw will now take place on Saturday July 27, and will end on Saturday August 24. The draw will take place at the 6.00 pm Vigil Mass in Holy Rosary and may be viewed on Holy Rosary webcam.

Week 1: 1st Prize £1,000, 2nd Prize £200, 3rd Prize £100.

IRISH CATHOLIC BISHOPS STATEMENT ON END OF LIFE

To address the sensitive issue of compassionate care at the end of life, and in response to the need to inform the faithful of Catholic teaching on this important life issue that affects so many families, the Bishops of Ireland have published the pastoral letterFreedom to Live Fully, Until Death Comes.  You are invited to read this letter and view the accompanying video Through the Valley, which offers personal testimonies by carers and people with terminal illness. The key message of both letter and video asserts that every person possesses infinite dignity that remains intact regardless of their circumstances.
