WELCOME FR McCAUL

As we bade farewell to Fr Dermot last weekend, we warmly welcome Fr Michael McCaul to Ballinascreen and Desertmartin this weekend. We wish him every blessing, fulfilment and joy in his priestly ministry among us. It will take Fr Michael time to settle in and get used to all the churches and schools but we are looking forward to getting to know him and he, us.

Welcome Fr Michael.


VISITATION OF SICK

Fr Madden will continue to visit the sick and housebound of the parish over the next week. Where possible he will make contact the day before to arrange a suitable time.

MASS IN HONOUR OF ST PADRE PIO

Monthly Mass in honour of St Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Monday September 2 at 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church. Novena prayers and Rosary at 7.10 pm. All welcome.

PADRE PIO ~ KNOCK PILGRIMAGE

National Pilgrimage in honour of St Pio on Sunday 22 September at Knock. A coach will leave Holy Rosary Church at 7.00 am, with pickup at St Mary's, Coolcam (7.10 am) returning at 10.00 pm approx. DERRY DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

Bishop McKeown will lead the Diocesan Pilgrimage on Saturday 28 September.


PTAA MASS ~ 125 YEARS

This year the association celebrates 125 years of the foundation of Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart.  Ulster Provincial Pioneer Council will hold their Mass on Sunday 8 September at 12.00 noon in St Micheal’s Church, Darling Street, Enniskillen.  All pioneers, friends and families are very welcome.

Ballinascreen Community Forum as part of the BALGLEN project, funded by the International Fund for Ireland is providing a free bus to attend the Glenties Harvest Fair on Sunday 15 September, departing Draperstown at 11.00 am. COURSES AT DRUMALIS

  • Pathways Adult Faith Development Programme for 2024/2025 begins on Saturday 12 October at Drumalis. The programme takes place one Saturday a month from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm between October and June. All welcome. Past participants may also be interested in the new programme on offer this year. 

  • Growth In Prayer and Reflective Living hosted by Drumalis via Zoom, commences Monday 16 September. Do you feel restless, do you sense there is a deeper meaning to life, that God is out there but you feel disconnected.  Then this course may be for you. This 20 session course via Zoom from September until March is based on Ignatian Spirituality. 

  • Rooted in Love. Zoom course delivered over ten Thursday evening sessions from September 2024 to May 2025. This course is ideal for anyone who has completed Growth in Prayer and Reflective Living.

LOW COST COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

This Autumn psychotherapy students from the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre (www.dctc.ie) will be available to meet clients face to face in the Maghera area. Working under the auspices of Derry Psychotherapy,  a professional psychotherapy and supervision practice, (www.derrypsychotherapy.co.uk), the students will work with a range of issues with adult clients. BLESSING OF MOTORCYCLES

On Sunday 15 September at St Aengus’ Church, Burt, Co. Donegal, at 1.30 pm and then bike ride to RNLI Station, Buncrana for refreshments. Fr Gerry Sweeney will celebrate Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Dungiven, at 11.30 am on September 15, all bikers welcome to that Mass and then head straight to Burt after brief blessing service.

  • Painting classes resume Wednesday 11 September, ~ 10.00 am and 7.00 pm.
