WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR LENT?
This year why not travel with Jesus as he enters into his passion? ‘No Greater Love’ is a Lenten programme, based around a series of short films shot on location in the Holy Land. Over five weeks we are given the opportunity to walk step-by-step with Jesus through the scriptures from the garden of Gethsemane to Mount Calvary. The short films are presented by Edward Sri who leads us on a biblical pilgrimage that reveals Christ’s amazing love for us. At each session there will be the opportunity to pray and talk together as members of our Parish Family. There will be 5 sessions – one for each week of Lent before we enter into Holy Week in An Rath Dubh Centre, Moneyneena beginning Sunday 1 March, from 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm. To register please phone Parish Office 79628248 or email ballinascreenparish@gmail.com or speak to Fr Madden or Fr McGirr on or before Thursday February 20, as resources have to be ordered for all participants.
There will be no charge for this course.
‘No Greater Love’ is an opportunity to prepare our minds and hearts as we prepare for the celebration of Easter.
‘The Resurrection is the greatest message history has ever heard!’ Pope Francis

VOCATIONS WEEK 2020: SUNDAY 16 – SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY
During this week of prayer centred on Vocations, parishioners in all parishes across the Diocese of Derry are encouraged to pray for hearts open to the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit continues to provide the People of God with numerous gifts. Can we be brave and generous enough to respond to the promptings of God’s Spirit? Without the Holy Spirt there would be no ministries alive and active in the Church, helping to build the Body of Christ. During Vocations Week can we become aware of our role in God’s plan to heal and redeem a broken world? How can we use our gifts to promote the reign of God? How is God calling each one of us to live out our lives in response to His call? As we search our hearts, are we being called to priesthood, Religious life, married or single life? View Derryvocations.org for more information.
