DO THIS IN MEMORY MASS
Mass will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church on Saturday 25 January at 6.00 pm. The theme of this Mass will be Baptism.
CONFIRMATION 2020
Ballinascreen Parish Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday April 25 at
11.00 am in St Columba’s Church Straw.
SERVICE OF LIGHT
The Service of Light is a pre-Confirmation ceremony and is an important event in preparing children for Confirmation. A key part of the service is when parents hand the lighted Baptismal candle to their child, acknowledging that their child is now ready to become a responsible Christian. At Baptism parents light the Baptismal candle from the Paschal candle symbolising their commitment to pass their faith on to their child. In the same way, at the Service of Light parents once again light their child’s Baptismal candle from the Paschal candle and hand it to their child. In doing so, parents promise to help and support their child live out the call of their Confirmation. They are agreeing, together with their child, to keep the light of faith burning in all of their lives.
Ballinascreen Parish Service of Light for Primary 7 children will take place on Sunday 2 February (Candlemass Day) at 5.00 pm in Holy Rosary Church.
All P7 children and parents are warmly invited to attend this very special service.
Note: Children from Gaelscoil na Speiríní will have a separate Service of Light with other Irish Medium Schools.
