He is not here; he has risen.’”

PARISH PENITENTIAL SERVICES

Evenings of Love and Forgiveness

On Tuesday April 16 at 7.30 pm in St Eugene’s Church and Wednesday April 17 also at 7.30 pm in St Patrick’s Keenaught, there will be Penitential Services. Together, we will reflect on our sinfulness and our need to say sorry to God and to each other. After we have recited together an Act of Sorrow you will be invited to come forward to a priest to say ‘I am sorry for my sins’, and if there is something in particular you wish to mention you may then do so. The priest will then give you absolution and you will return to your seat.

This is not the occasion for an in depth conversation about issues in your life that you may wish to talk about. Please come back on another occasion if you wish to have such a conversation.

We hope that many people who have not been to confession for some time will see in these ‘Evenings of Love and Forgiveness’ an opportunity to return to the sacramental life of the church and to celebrate the Paschal Mystery the following Holy Week with renewed vigour and faith.

TRÓCAIRE LENTEN CAMPAIGN

‘They took branches of palm and went out to receive him, shouting: 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord, the king of Israel.' (John, 12:13) The palm is a symbol of peace and on this Palm Sunday we pray for the millions of people around the world who are affected by conflict and have had to flee with their families to face an uncertain future. Trócaire is working in many areas of conflict to ensure people have a chance of a better future. View www.trocaire.org/lent for more details.

Please bring your Trócaire box to any of the Ceremonies on Holy Thursday or Good Friday.
